Where does the energy go?

This is something we know intimately here at Tula Vida.

We’re off-grid—our power comes from the sun. So we have to be conscious of how we use energy. Sure, we have backups. But they’re not sustainable or efficient. Solar is best—but it requires awareness, pacing, prioritization.

We’ve learned to look at where the energy goes.

Some things are obvious: hairdryers, kettles, tumble dryers. But then there are the sneaky drains—the lamp that’s plugged in but not switched on. The fan that uses four times the energy of the others.

If we don’t know what’s draining the energy, how can we possibly manage it?

The same goes for your internal system.

Awareness first

We often think we just need more rest, better habits, or the right wellness trick. But it starts even more simply: with awareness.

When you understand what’s running beneath the surface, you begin to see your own system more clearly. And that awareness gives you a choice. To shift things. Gently. Sustainably. In a way that works for you.

Because you can’t run a new operating system if you don’t understand your current one.

Upgrading the operating manual

At Tula Vida, one of the most powerful things we do is help you get to know your unique nervous system. Not to fix it. Not to shame it. But to understand it—like learning a new language. You wouldn’t expect yourself to write a novel before you’d learned the alphabet. And yet that’s what many of us try to do when it comes to healing.

Getting to know your system is empowering. Because from there, you can learn what fuels you and what drains you. You don’t need a thousand techniques. You need a connection with yourself.

We believe the answers are already inside you. You just might need the basics: the alphabet, the operating manual, the gentle space to listen.

That’s what we offer here.

Because once you understand your own system, you can become the kind of energy steward who not only keeps the lights on—but lives with clarity, capacity, and calm.
